Role Overview
We are seeking a skilled AWS Cloud Engineer to design and manage cloud infrastructure that is both secure and highly available. In this remote position, you'll work across the full lifecycle of cloud environments, ensuring systems are scalable, cost-efficient, and aligned with operational requirements.
Key Responsibilities
- Architect and deploy AWS solutions using core services such as EC2, S3, RDS, VPC, and EKS, with an emphasis on resilience, scalability, and disaster recovery planning.
- Automate provisioning and configuration management using Terraform and AWS CloudFormation to ensure consistent, repeatable deployments.
- Enforce security standards by implementing IAM policies, encryption protocols, network segmentation, and audit logging across cloud environments.
- Monitor system performance and resource utilization using native AWS tools, identifying and resolving issues affecting availability or efficiency.
- Integrate infrastructure with CI/CD pipelines using GitHub Actions to support automated, reliable application releases.
- Collaborate with software teams to understand technical needs and deliver cloud architectures that meet application demands.
- Support containerized workloads using Docker and Kubernetes (EKS), ensuring smooth deployment and operation of microservices.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related technical field.
- Proven experience with AWS services including compute, storage, networking, and database solutions.
- Strong background in infrastructure automation using Terraform or AWS CloudFormation.
- Proficiency in scripting languages such as Python, Bash, or PowerShell for system automation and administration tasks.
- Understanding of AWS security models, including the shared responsibility framework and best practices for securing cloud assets.
- Familiarity with networking concepts such as subnets, routing, load balancing, firewalls, and secure remote connectivity.
- Experience troubleshooting complex issues in cloud environments and CI/CD workflows.
- Knowledge of continuous integration and deployment principles and tools.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively within cross-functional teams.
Preferred Qualifications
- AWS Certified DevOps Engineer – Professional or AWS Certified Advanced Networking – Specialty certification.
- Hands-on experience as a Cloud Engineer in production environments.
- Direct experience managing containerized applications with Docker and Kubernetes on EKS.
- Working knowledge of modern CI/CD tooling, particularly GitHub Actions.
