Role Overview
We’re seeking an experienced Back End Developer with deep knowledge of Elixir to help build and evolve our core backend infrastructure. In this role, you’ll be responsible for designing and maintaining scalable, high-performance systems using Elixir, OTP, Phoenix, and Ecto. You’ll work closely with product, frontend, and DevOps teams to deliver reliable services, from initial design through deployment and monitoring.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain APIs, background workers, and asynchronous job processors in Elixir
- Design and implement resilient, fault-tolerant systems using OTP principles
- Optimize database interactions and queries using Ecto and PostgreSQL
- Integrate with internal services, message queues, and event-driven architectures
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define requirements and deliver end-to-end solutions
- Take full ownership of features—from architecture and implementation to deployment and operational support
What You’ll Need
- Minimum of 5 years in backend development, including at least 2 years using Elixir in production environments
- Proven track record building scalable, high-throughput systems
- Strong command of OTP, Ecto, and Phoenix frameworks
- Extensive experience with PostgreSQL and performance tuning of SQL queries
- Familiarity with AWS cloud services and serverless platforms such as Lambda
- A self-driven approach with a focus on ownership and delivering reliable systems
Nice to Have
- Prior experience in FinTech or financial services
- Working knowledge of Node.js and Express, particularly in serverless contexts
