We're looking for a skilled data center professional to join remotely on a contract basis, focused on evaluating and optimizing current data center environments. In this role, you'll analyze physical and operational aspects—including power distribution, cooling efficiency, rack layout, cabling integrity, monitoring systems, redundancy, and safety protocols—and deliver clear, practical recommendations for improvement.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive assessments of existing data center facilities and identify risks, inefficiencies, and opportunities for enhancement.
- Review and refine technical documentation, producing detailed reports, risk summaries, and prioritized action plans.
- Support the restructuring of service offerings by defining service scopes, maintenance checklists, SLAs, and handover procedures.
- Develop clear, scalable diagrams for single and dual-site configurations, highlighting topology, redundancy levels, and system interdependencies.
- Provide guidance on equipment quantities and specifications with vendor-neutral recommendations; assist in preparing procurement and tender materials when required.
- Ensure all recommendations align with recognized international frameworks such as TIA-942, ISO/IEC 22237, ASHRAE guidelines, and Uptime Institute principles.
Qualifications
Candidates should demonstrate hands-on experience in data center design and operational assessment, with a proven ability to translate complex technical findings into structured, actionable deliverables. Familiarity with creating detailed schematics and applying industry standards to real-world environments is essential. Strong documentation skills and the ability to work independently in a remote capacity are required.
