Join a team focused on advancing the infrastructure behind a widely used healthcare platform. As a DevOps Engineer, you'll be responsible for building and maintaining robust, cloud-based systems that support fast, secure, and repeatable software delivery. The environment is centered on Kubernetes, with infrastructure managed through code and automated pipelines that minimize manual intervention.
What You’ll Do
- Design and operate scalable Kubernetes environments across cloud providers, ensuring high availability and strong security practices.
- Develop and refine CI/CD workflows to enable rapid, reliable deployments across development, staging, and production environments.
- Use Terraform and similar tools to define infrastructure in code, ensuring systems are consistent, versioned, and easy to audit.
- Integrate AI-powered development tools into daily workflows to enhance automation, troubleshoot issues, and accelerate infrastructure delivery.
- Set up monitoring, logging, and alerting using tools like Prometheus, Grafana, and Datadog to maintain system health and respond proactively to incidents.
- Embed security and compliance into pipelines and infrastructure, particularly as they relate to handling sensitive healthcare data under Canadian regulations.
- Collaborate with development teams to reduce deployment friction and improve platform usability.
- Communicate technical decisions clearly to engineers and non-technical stakeholders alike.
What We’re Looking For
- Proven experience using AI-assisted coding tools such as Claude Code to support infrastructure development.
- At least five years in DevOps, platform engineering, or cloud infrastructure roles.
- Strong command of Kubernetes, including cluster management, scaling, and troubleshooting.
- Proficiency with infrastructure-as-code platforms, especially Terraform.
- Hands-on experience with CI/CD systems like GitHub Actions or Azure DevOps.
- Scripting ability in Bash, Python, or Go.
- Familiarity with cloud providers, with a preference for Azure.
- Understanding of networking fundamentals, container security, and DNS management.
- Skilled in problem-solving and data-driven decision-making.
- Excellent communication and collaboration abilities.
Nice to Have
- Experience with agentic orchestration or automated development pipelines.
- Background working in healthcare IT, electronic medical records, or regulated environments governed by PHIPA or PIPEDA.
- Exposure to GitOps tools like ArgoCD or Flux.
- Working knowledge of service mesh architectures and observability tooling.
