About the Role
The consultant will create and interpret energy simulations to evaluate building performance, support program development, and provide technical guidance for energy-saving initiatives.
Responsibilities
- Develop detailed energy models for commercial and residential buildings
- Analyze energy usage patterns and identify efficiency opportunities
- Support the design and evaluation of energy efficiency programs
- Translate simulation results into actionable recommendations
- Collaborate with engineers and technical staff on project deliverables
- Conduct building energy audits and data collection
- Use software tools to simulate heating, cooling, and electrical loads
- Prepare reports summarizing modeling assumptions and findings
- Validate model accuracy against actual energy consumption data
- Stay current with energy codes, standards, and building technologies
- Assist in benchmarking building performance across portfolios
- Participate in quality assurance reviews of modeling work
- Present technical findings to internal and external stakeholders
- Integrate renewable energy systems into building simulations
- Support compliance with energy efficiency regulations
- Contribute to the development of program incentives and guidelines
- Work with utility partners on energy savings verification
- Perform cost-benefit analyses for energy conservation measures
- Model the impact of building envelope improvements
- Evaluate HVAC system performance using simulation tools
- Support research initiatives related to building energy use
- Provide input on software selection and workflow improvements
- Assist in training team members on modeling best practices
- Maintain documentation for modeling methodologies
- Contribute to proposals and technical submissions
