STREET is hiring a Founding Backend Engineer to join our early-stage startup. You will be instrumental in shaping the technical direction, building and scaling our mobile application, and have a direct impact on the company's future. This is an equity-based role with a salary and bonus upon successful fundraising.
What You'll Do
- Design, develop, and maintain scalable and secure RESTful APIs using Node.js (Express/Nest.js).
- Integrate and optimize data storage solutions using SQL (MySQL/PostgreSQL) and MongoDB.
- Implement AWS Lambda functions for serverless computing tasks.
- Manage CI/CD pipelines and deployments using AWS CodeDeploy, CodePipeline, or similar tools.
- Write reusable, testable, and efficient code, following best practices.
- Collaborate closely with frontend developers, product managers, and QA teams to deliver high-quality software solutions.
- Perform code reviews, troubleshoot, debug applications, and improve performance.
- Ensure application security and data protection measures are in place.
- Contribute to system architecture and technical documentation.
What We're Looking For
- Minimum 2+ years of professional experience working with Node.js in a production environment.
- Solid understanding of RESTful API design principles and microservices architecture.
- Proficiency in SQL databases (like MySQL or PostgreSQL) and NoSQL databases (especially MongoDB).
- Experience in AWS services, including Lambda, S3, API Gateway, and CodeDeploy.
- Hands-on experience with version control tools such as Git.
- Good knowledge of unit testing frameworks like Jest, Mocha, or similar.
- Understanding of authentication/authorization protocols (JWT, OAuth2).
Nice to Have
- Familiarity with GraphQL.
- Experience working in Agile/Scrum development environments.
- Exposure to monitoring tools like CloudWatch, Sentry, or Datadog.
- Experience with logging and performance tuning.
- Familiarity with containerized environments (Docker) and serverless framework.
