About the Role
The technician will deploy and maintain access control and surveillance systems, troubleshoot field issues, and ensure all installations meet technical and safety requirements.
Responsibilities
- Install access control hardware including card readers, controllers, and door sensors
- Configure and test security systems on-site after installation
- Diagnose and repair malfunctions in electronic security equipment
- Follow technical diagrams and project plans during system deployment
- Perform system upgrades and firmware updates as needed
- Ensure all installations comply with building and safety codes
- Coordinate with project managers and clients during site work
- Document installation configurations and system settings
- Respond to service requests for existing security systems
- Maintain tools and equipment used in field installations
- Verify proper operation of network-connected security devices
- Support integration of security systems with third-party platforms
- Conduct site surveys to assess installation requirements
- Assist in developing installation checklists and procedures
- Provide feedback on product performance in real-world conditions
- Adhere to company safety protocols during all field activities
- Lift and transport equipment weighing up to 50 pounds
- Work at heights when installing devices on doors or walls
- Complete work orders and submit reports in a timely manner
- Minimize disruptions during installations in active facilities
Nice to Have
- Certification in security systems or electronics technology
- Experience with cloud-based security platforms
- Training in fire alarm or life safety systems
- Exposure to IT security principles
- Prior work with commercial door hardware
- Familiarity with project management software
- Customer service experience in technical roles
