Rockefeller Philanthropy Advisors is hiring a Junior Information Security Officer to join our security team. This entry-level remote role in Germany supports critical functions to safeguard our enterprise systems. You will collaborate across teams to maintain certifications, assist with security inquiries, and contribute to vulnerability assessments and audit readiness.
What You'll Do
- Assist in conducting regular vulnerability assessments, coordinating penetration tests, and preparing for audits.
- Support maintenance of ISO/IEC 27001 and ISO 9001 certified management systems.
- Collaborate with Sales, Legal, Product, and Value Desk teams to respond to RFPs, security questionnaires, and due diligence requests.
- Help develop and update internal security policies, procedures, and awareness training programs.
- Contribute to ongoing compliance efforts related to SOC 2, GDPR, and other regulatory requirements.
- Maintain thorough documentation for risk assessments, security incidents, and control implementations.
- Manage external security ratings and trust portals such as UpGuard and BitSight.
- Stay updated on emerging cybersecurity threats, trends, and best practices to support continuous improvement.
What We're Looking For
- Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Cybersecurity, Computer Science, or related field, or equivalent practical experience.
- Basic understanding of information security principles, risk management, and cloud security concepts.
- Familiarity with standards such as ISO 27001, ISO 9001, SOC 2, and CSA STAR Level 2.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with great attention to detail.
- Fluent in English.
- Enthusiastic about learning and growing a career in information security.
Nice to Have
- Proficiency in German is beneficial but not mandatory.
- Experience or exposure to security platforms like Bugcrowd, UpGuard, BitSight, and Microsoft Azure Security Center is a plus.
