Ventrata was looking for a Legal Counsel

Ventrata is seeking a Legal Counsel to join our team. In this role, you will manage a wide range of legal matters for our fast-growing SaaS company, including contracts, compliance, data protection, employment law, and intellectual property. You'll be a key member of our finance team, providing crucial support to help our business scale globally.

What You'll Do

  • Draft, review, and negotiate commercial agreements such as SaaS, licensing, and partnership contracts.
  • Maintain scalable contract templates and streamline negotiation processes.
  • Ensure compliance with UK and international laws, including GDPR, CCPA, and export controls.
  • Identify and mitigate global regulatory risks.
  • Lead data privacy compliance, develop policies, and advise on GDPR and global data protection.
  • Provide legal advice on employment matters across jurisdictions, including disputes and regulatory compliance.
  • Manage trademarks, copyrights, and patents.
  • Protect proprietary technology and software.
  • Oversee external legal advisors and provide internal training on key regulatory changes.
  • Support large enterprise sales deals to ensure compliance during negotiations and execution.

What We're Looking For

  • Qualified solicitor with 5–7 years of PQE, ideally in the SaaS or technology sector.
  • Strong experience drafting, reviewing, and negotiating commercial contracts.
  • Solid knowledge of UK and international laws, particularly GDPR, IP, and employment law.
  • Proven ability to manage diverse legal matters in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent communication skills to convey legal concepts to non-legal teams.

Nice to Have

  • Experience with global operations and cross-border legal issues.
  • Understanding of software licensing and subscription services.
  • Based in the Czech Republic.
