As a Machine Learning Engineer, you will lead the development of end-to-end machine learning solutions that directly impact how work is matched and fulfilled across a dynamic labor network. Your work will focus on designing robust, high-performance systems that model complex behaviors such as shift acceptance likelihood, optimal pricing, and dispatch efficiency.
What You’ll Do
- Design and implement scalable ML pipelines from concept to production, integrating with cloud infrastructure and backend services
- Train, evaluate, and deploy models that solve core marketplace challenges, including demand forecasting and partner selection
- Develop computer vision systems to analyze inventory and monitor real-time stock levels in physical environments
- Collaborate with engineering and product teams to refine data strategies and influence long-term technical vision
- Mentor team members and contribute to a culture of technical excellence and continuous learning
What We’re Looking For
- 5+ years of experience building and deploying machine learning systems in production environments
- Proven ability to work with large-scale datasets using Python, SQL, pandas, and ML frameworks such as scikit-learn or XGBoost
- Strong foundation in classification, object detection, and video-based action recognition tasks
- Ability to translate business needs into technical solutions using data-driven reasoning
- Experience working in fast-moving, ambiguous settings where initiative and ownership drive results
- Strong communication skills with a track record of influencing cross-functional teams and leadership
Technology Environment
Our stack includes Python, MongoDB, Google Cloud Platform, SQL, pandas, scikit-learn, and XGBoost. You’ll work directly with data at scale and deploy models that power real-time decisioning across a distributed network.
Work Environment
This is a hybrid role based in New York City, with a general expectation of four days per week in the Manhattan office. The environment emphasizes collaboration, rapid iteration, and shared accountability.
