Westgate Resorts is hiring a Payroll Specialist

Responsibilities

  • Collect and verify all necessary data for payroll processing.
  • Record and update payroll details by gathering, computing, and inputting information into the payroll system.
  • Keep payroll records current by entering changes to deductions, wage garnishments, and direct deposit information.
  • File payroll tax payments with federal, multi-state, and local tax authorities.
  • Support wage reconciliation and ensure timely submission of required tax filings.
  • Investigate and resolve payroll discrepancies through data collection and analysis.
  • Respond to employee and field partner inquiries regarding payroll information.
  • Support systems and workflows to ensure accurate, on-time payroll processing, including year-end reporting such as W2s and 1099s, and garnishment handling.
  • Keep organized, compliant records to satisfy internal and external audit standards.
  • Collaborate with HRIS to verify and test payroll and commission software for accuracy.
  • Identify and propose system or process enhancements to improve payroll efficiency and accuracy, including self-service tools for managers and employees.
  • Reconcile gross-to-net calculations across all pay groups.
  • Verify accuracy of pay group totals by comparing them to prior periods and previous year data to detect anomalies.
  • Maintain quarterly and year-to-date spreadsheets that reconcile with master control reports.
  • Demonstrate strong organizational abilities and consistently meet critical payroll deadlines.
  • Supply detailed transaction data to Accounting for payroll bank account reconciliations.
  • Support investigation and resolution of payroll variances and inconsistencies.
