Role Overview
This position serves as a key contributor to the security and regulatory compliance framework at a major Canadian international airport. Reporting to the Manager, Security Operations, the Senior Security & Regulatory Analyst is responsible for leading the development and oversight of a robust Quality Assurance Program. The role ensures adherence to the Canadian Aviation Security Regulations (CASRs), Aviation Security Measures (ASMs), and provisions under the Aeronautics Act, while functioning as a trusted internal advisor on security policy and operational risk.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct thorough evaluations of aerodrome operations to verify compliance with federal aviation security legislation and regulatory frameworks
- Assess the effectiveness of security personnel, screening procedures, access controls, patrol protocols, detection systems, and physical infrastructure
- Perform comprehensive audits of the Airport Security Program, including incident response readiness, document management, and procedural adherence
- Serve as a primary point of contact for internal teams, offering expert insight on security policy, leading committee participation, and supporting the development of security procedures and formal communications
- Lead end-to-end investigations of security incidents, identifying root causes, documenting outcomes, and overseeing the implementation of corrective actions
- Analyze patterns in audit findings, violations, and operational data to detect systemic risks and support leadership decision-making through performance reporting
- Collaborate with management to integrate new regulatory requirements into operations, ensuring timely and effective implementation
- Support operational planning through involvement in capital projects, budget development, and contract evaluation to ensure alignment with security objectives
Qualifications
Candidates must have at least five years of relevant experience, complemented by a bachelor’s degree in security management, business, operations, or a related field. Equivalent combinations of education and experience will be considered. A strong grasp of aviation security regulations, including CASRs and ASMs, is essential. The ideal candidate demonstrates advanced analytical thinking, project coordination ability, and experience in operational analysis within regulated environments.
Proficiency in MS Excel and the broader MS Office suite is required, with experience in data modeling and analysis. Strong written and verbal communication skills, along with the ability to mediate and negotiate across departments, are critical. Candidates should be highly organized, capable of independent work, and familiar with financial principles, emergency response protocols, and cross-functional operations.

- Hold or be pursuing the Certified Protection Professional (CPP) designation
