Role Overview
This position leads the operational excellence of a proprietary data platform across the EMEA region. Reporting to an Associate Director moving into a strategic capacity, the Senior Data Operations Manager ensures the platform delivers reliable, timely, and accurate data while supporting users and guiding technical development.
Key Responsibilities
- Diagnose team challenges and lead resolution efforts using platform capabilities, managing both communication and implementation.
- Monitor strategic shifts on client accounts to anticipate changes in scope or support demands.
- Assess end-to-end workflows beyond immediate ownership to uncover efficiency gains and process improvements.
- Own data quality initiatives by measuring and enhancing data completeness, accuracy, and timeliness.
- Act as primary support for platform users, resolving issues and training teams to prevent future problems.
- Spot recurring or systemic user difficulties and recommend platform adjustments to reduce friction.
- Engage management at multiple levels to maintain awareness of platform strengths and constraints.
- Introduce new features proactively, ensuring stakeholders understand both function and value.
- Oversee the development, testing, and rollout of new platform capabilities.
- Understand backend architecture and technical boundaries, advising on system limitations.
- Review legacy components for potential modernization or re-architecture.
- Collaborate closely with internal developers, engineers, and external technical partners, including client teams.
Required Qualifications
- Strong communication skills, with the ability to discuss technical topics clearly with developers and non-technical users alike.
- Patience and clarity when working with users who may be new to the industry or non-native English speakers.
- Confidence representing the platform to senior agency and client leadership as a subject matter expert.
- Experience in platform or reporting system development, particularly in enabling cross-functional teams to deliver better data outcomes.
- Familiarity with media planning, digital advertising technologies, and data classification systems.
- Ability to learn how software components exchange data across platforms.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
- Strong skills in Word and PowerPoint for documentation and presentation.
- Proven ability to present technical concepts clearly and concisely to non-technical audiences.
Preferred Qualifications
- Programming or scripting experience with SQL, Python, or similar tools.
- Knowledge of regular expressions (Regex) for data pattern matching.
- Expert-level command of the full Microsoft Office suite.
- Experience with PowerBI, Tableau, MCI, or similar visualization tools.
- Background in constructing or executing API queries.
- Exposure to database management or data warehousing concepts.
- Hands-on experience with ETL platforms for data integration.
Work Environment
This role operates under a hybrid model, with three days per week in office locations in London, Manchester, or Newcastle, and two days remote. Core working hours are from 10:30 to 16:30, with flexibility to adjust start and end times (e.g., 8:30–16:30 or 10:30–18:30).
