About the Role

Samsung Electronics America, Inc. is hiring a Senior Engineer - Applied AI to lead the technical direction for AI innovations that shape the future of eCommerce. You will ensure AI systems solve real-world business problems by building AI-native experiences and pioneering intelligent, autonomous AI agents for a new paradigm of Agentic eCommerce.

What You'll Do

  • Collaborate closely with business stakeholders to prioritize and build AI-native experiences that directly impact key metrics like conversion, engagement, and customer satisfaction.
  • Architect, implement, and deploy Generative AI and LLM-powered systems to dramatically enhance the product buying journey and deliver measurable business ROI.
  • Conduct competitive analysis, develop business models, and study industry trends to inform AI strategy.
  • Collaborate with external partners to evaluate AI solutions and assess capabilities that support Samsung's eCommerce initiatives.
  • Drive the development of autonomous agents that deliver hyper-personalized and intelligent shopping experiences at scale.
  • Leverage Generative Engine Optimization (GEO) to enhance how products are surfaced, ranked, recommended, and purchased within an AI-native environment.

What We're Looking For

  • PhD or Master’s in Computer Science, Machine Learning, Statistics, Mathematics, or a related field.
  • 10+ years of industry experience with a focus on building machine learning and AI-native solutions and platforms.
  • Proven experience leading AI product development at scale, driving business impact and delivering real-world value.
  • Deep expertise in ML frameworks (TensorFlow, PyTorch) and programming languages (Python, C++).
  • Strong technical foundation in deep learning, NLP, unsupervised learning, LLM compute time inference and reasoning (e.g., CoT prompting).
  • Hands-on experience with Generative AI and LLMs, with a track record of delivering business-critical AI solutions.
  • Expertise in distributed computing, GPU/multi-GPU training, and large-scale data processing.
  • Ability to translate business needs into technical solutions and ensure alignment between AI initiatives and business goals.
  • Strong problem-solving mindset and the ability to build scalable solutions that drive product and business outcomes.
  • Exceptional communication skills, with the ability to articulate complex technical concepts and their business implications to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

  • Compensation: Between $265,500 and $280,000 for candidates based in California.
