We’re building a new kind of engineering practice—one where artificial intelligence is not just a tool, but a central partner in development. As a Senior Software Engineer on the Circle Expansion team, you’ll design and deliver features that support aging parents, pre-teens with wearables, and community groups, ensuring experiences are safe, intuitive, and deeply useful.
What You’ll Do
- Develop full-stack features with a focus on mobile excellence, delivering polished and performant experiences to a global user base.
- Integrate AI into every phase of development—using agentic workflows to generate code, write tests, verify outputs, and conduct reviews, with Claude Code as a primary collaborator.
- Help establish and document AI-Native engineering standards, creating reusable frameworks and playbooks for broader adoption.
- Collaborate with product and design to solve complex user challenges with simple, scalable solutions.
- Guide architectural decisions, lead code reviews, and foster a culture of technical excellence and continuous improvement.
- Support system reliability through on-call rotations and incident response, with a focus on performance, accessibility, and long-term maintainability.
- Mentor team members and help evolve practices around prompt engineering, context window management, and function calling with LLMs.
What We’re Looking For
- 5+ years of experience building consumer-facing software at scale.
- At least one year actively using large language models for development tasks—beyond autocomplete, as a true partner in coding and problem-solving.
- Strong mobile development background (iOS or Android), with a deep understanding of what makes mobile UX effective and trustworthy.
- Proven experience with agentic workflows, prompt engineering, and LLM integration patterns like MCP/function calling.
- Ability to communicate clearly across disciplines and contribute to high-impact technical decisions.
- A mindset focused on empathy—designing for real human needs, from caregivers to coaches to young users.
- Bachelor’s degree in a technical field or equivalent practical experience.
Preferred Background
While mobile expertise is strongly preferred, exceptional full-stack or backend engineers with AI experience are also encouraged to apply.
Technology Environment
You’ll work with Claude Code, LLMs, Kubernetes, AWS, Java, and mobile platforms (iOS/Android), using advanced prompt strategies and function calling to drive development velocity and quality.
Work Environment
This is a remote-first role available to candidates in the US and Canada. We support flexible schedules and provide tools and stipends to ensure a productive remote setup.
