Lead technical engagements for public sector clients, serving as a trusted advisor in designing, deploying, and optimizing solutions built on the Elastic Stack. You will translate complex data challenges into high-performance systems, ensuring alignment with mission-critical objectives and long-term scalability.
Key Responsibilities
- Direct consulting projects from planning through delivery, both remotely and on-site, with a focus on maximizing value from Elastic technologies.
- Design and implement secure, resilient data architectures, including capacity planning, cluster configuration, and performance tuning.
- Develop proofs of concept and demonstrations that illustrate real-time search, analytics, and observability capabilities.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to resolve advanced technical issues and deliver robust data modeling and query optimization.
- Mentor junior consultants through training, shadowing, and knowledge sharing initiatives.
- Review and validate technical reports, ensuring clarity and accuracy in recommendations and outcomes.
- Support hiring efforts by participating in technical evaluations and onboarding processes.
Requirements
- Active U.S. Federal Secret security clearance or higher.
- Commitment to work onsite in Orlando, FL 4–5 days per week during the first year, with flexibility for remote work the remainder of the time.
- Minimum of 3 years in client-facing technical roles such as consulting or instruction.
- At least 5 years of hands-on experience as a systems, network, or cloud engineer.
- Proven expertise with Elasticsearch or comparable distributed data platforms.
- Strong command of Linux, Unix, and Windows environments, including CLI proficiency.
- Experience with cloud infrastructure (AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud) and scripting in languages such as Python, Java, or JavaScript.
- Familiarity with SQL and NoSQL databases including Redis, MongoDB, and Elasticsearch.
- Ability to rapidly master new Elastic tools and adapt to evolving technical demands.
- DoD 8570 IAT Level II certification (e.g., Security+) required within 30 days of hire if not already held.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience delivering technical training or public speaking on enterprise software topics.
- Certifications in Ansible, GitHub, Kubernetes, Docker, Kafka, or cloud platforms.
- Background in cybersecurity, log analysis, or network data systems.
- Degree in Computer Science, Cybersecurity, or related discipline.
- Elastic Certified Engineer, Analyst, or Observability Engineer credentials.
Work Environment
This role operates in a hybrid model, combining regular on-site presence in Orlando with remote flexibility. You’ll collaborate within a distributed team, supported by tools and practices designed for asynchronous productivity and inclusion.
Compensation & Benefits
- Salary range: $113,100 – $152,000 USD, determined by role and expertise.
- No variable compensation; pay is based on position, not prior earnings.
