Crunchyroll is looking for a Software Engineer II to join our Apple video player team. In this role, you will contribute to the design, development, and optimization of our video player library. You will take ownership of key features and collaborate with cross-functional teams to help shape our technology roadmap.
What You'll Do
- Contribute to the design and implementation of software solutions for mobile video player development.
- Collaborate on the definition and development of technical solutions that improve existing features or enhance architectural quality.
- Identify performance bottlenecks and areas of improvement in the codebase and work with senior engineers to propose and implement solutions.
- Maintain high coding standards and follow best practices in Swift development.
- Participate in design and code reviews to ensure high-quality product delivery.
- Support a culture of operational excellence by focusing on efficient and maintainable engineering practices.
- Stay updated on industry trends and mobile development technologies.
What We're Looking For
- 3-5 years of industry experience developing in Swift.
- Passionate about application development and the streaming space.
- Committed to upholding excellence in operations, delivery, and engineering practices.
- Experience developing and maintaining consumer-facing mobile applications.
- Experience working closely with product and program management to support technology roadmaps and project goals.
- Experience collaborating with senior engineers and team leads to drive mobile development initiatives.
- Ability to apply sound judgment to balance trade-offs between performance, scalability, and user experience.
Nice to Have
- Experience contributing to Swift solutions that serve millions of global users.
- Familiarity with multimedia frameworks and protocols like MPEG-DASH, HLS, and video streaming technologies.
