Biogen is hiring a (Sr) Medical Science Liaison, Nephrology - Southeast

As a Medical Science Liaison in Nephrology, you will act as a trusted scientific resource for healthcare professionals and key medical experts across the Southeast region. Your role centers on fostering long-term, collaborative relationships grounded in medical expertise and responsive engagement, with a focus on advancing knowledge in nephrology, particularly in areas such as IgA Nephropathy (IgAN) and Antibody-Mediated Rejection (AMR).

Key Responsibilities

  • Serve as a credible, science-driven liaison to key opinion leaders and healthcare providers, supporting informed clinical decision-making through balanced, evidence-based dialogue
  • Develop and execute strategic engagement plans that align with national medical objectives and deliver meaningful scientific value
  • Act as a conduit between external medical communities and internal teams, ensuring insights are captured accurately and shared effectively
  • Utilize Veeva to document medical insights with precision, contributing to the evolution of clinical and medical strategies
  • Collaborate across functions to support initiatives that advance medical education and patient outcomes
  • Maintain a high standard of accountability by meeting performance metrics and contributing to medical excellence goals

Qualifications

Candidates must hold a doctoral-level degree (MD, PhD, PharmD, or DNP) in a scientific or clinical field. A strong foundation in communication, active listening, and audience-adaptive engagement is essential. You should be comfortable using digital tools and responsive technologies, with a commitment to ethical standards in medical interactions.

Travel is required—approximately 60% of time, including overnight and occasional weekend travel. You must reside within the Southeast territory (TN, MS, AL, SC, GA, FL) and have a valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record. Authorization to drive company-provided vehicles or rentals is mandatory.

Preferred Experience

  • Five or more years of experience as a Medical Science Liaison or in a comparable field-based medical role within biopharma
  • Direct clinical or therapeutic expertise in nephrology, especially in IgAN or AMR
  • Proven ability to navigate complex medical environments and build non-transactional, trust-based relationships
