About the Role

Role Overview

As Tax Manager, you'll play a central role in managing the corporation tax function within the Northern Europe Asset Management Finance Team. You'll share responsibility for overseeing tax compliance across a diverse portfolio of over 200 entities spanning 17 clients in the UK and Ireland. Working closely with the other Tax Manager and finance colleagues, you'll ensure accurate filings, support statutory reporting, and deliver timely tax insights to stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare, review, and file corporation tax computations for UK trading entities and holding companies
  • Produce year-end and quarterly tax accounting schedules under FRS102 and IFRS, including consolidation work
  • Manage group relief strategies, quarterly tax payments, Group Payment Arrangements, and Electricity Generator Levy obligations
  • File various tax returns such as SDLT/LBTT Rent Review, Corporate Interest Restriction, and Group Deductions Allowances
  • Engage with HMRC as needed and coordinate responses to tax inquiries
  • Deliver regular tax profile updates to business and client teams
  • Review tax returns prepared by external advisers for accuracy and compliance
  • Support due diligence activities by providing tax analysis for client projects
  • Collaborate with third parties on capital allowance initiatives when required
  • Work with asset management and commercial teams to resolve tax-related queries
  • Assist in the preparation of statutory financial statements

Qualifications and Experience

Candidates should demonstrate solid expertise in UK corporation tax and hold a recognized tax or accounting qualification such as ACA, ACCA, or CTA. A background in audit and statutory accounts preparation is essential. Experience in corporate tax compliance, preferably within a practice setting, is highly valued. Familiarity with group tax structures, transfer pricing, capital allowances, and quarterly payment calculations will support success in this role.

Proficiency with ONESOURCE Tax software or comparable tax technology platforms is preferred, along with strong skills in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.

Work Environment and Culture

This is a hybrid position based in the UK and Ireland, with an expectation of three office days per week and flexibility in scheduling. The organization supports adaptable working arrangements and encourages open dialogue about hours and location preferences.
