Role Overview
We need a Threat Intelligence Analyst with strong quantitative abilities to help identify and assess online threats related to targeted violence in the United States. In this role, you'll analyze digital discourse across social media and messaging platforms to detect threats aimed at public figures, at-risk communities, and essential infrastructure.
Key Responsibilities
- Monitor online environments where targeted violence is discussed, identifying potential threats and patterns of concern
- Produce weekly intelligence summaries and urgent flash reports with clear, data-backed analysis
- Collect and evaluate information from open-source platforms, including social media and extremist content, using proprietary tools
- Maintain and update databases tracking relevant platforms and accounts
- Develop and apply both quantitative and qualitative research techniques to analyze large-scale datasets
- Conduct in-depth studies on emerging trends within extremist online communities
- Meet tight deadlines for reporting while maintaining analytical rigor
- Share expertise on violent extremism across teams to strengthen organizational understanding
- Present findings to clients, adapting technical insights for strategic use
- Identify operational challenges and propose practical improvements to workflows
- Support client engagement and help identify new project opportunities aligned with their needs
Qualifications
- Intermediate to advanced experience with quantitative analysis methods
- Proven background analyzing large datasets related to extremism or online threats
- Proficiency with Python and data visualization tools such as Tableau or Kibana
- Experience in threat intelligence, open-source intelligence (OSINT), or a closely related field—either professionally or academically
