What You’ll Do
- Design, develop, and maintain scalable backend systems using PHP and modern frameworks like Symfony and Laravel
- Diagnose and resolve technical issues across applications and databases to ensure peak performance
- Refactor legacy code and implement best practices for long-term maintainability
- Integrate diverse data sources and services, ensuring seamless communication between systems
- Apply test-driven development (TDD) and write comprehensive acceptance tests to uphold code quality
- Collaborate with UX and other teams to align technical solutions with user needs
- Document architecture and system components to support team knowledge sharing
- Stay current with evolving web technologies and advocate for improvements within the team
What We’re Looking For
- At least 5 years of hands-on experience in PHP development
- Strong grasp of authentication and authorization mechanisms
- Proven ability to work with relational databases such as MySQL and MariaDB
- Experience with REST and SOAP APIs, version control (git), and Agile methodologies
- Familiarity with MVC frameworks including Laravel or Symfony
- Understanding of PHP’s constraints and effective strategies to overcome them
- Comfort working in a fast-paced, collaborative environment with cross-functional stakeholders
- A commitment to clean code, continuous integration, and iterative improvement
