Role Summary
This is a part-time, remote position focused on the administration and oversight of job scheduling using Control-M. The engineer will ensure batch workflows run efficiently and align with operational requirements, supporting a critical project with consistent monitoring and configuration management.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and maintain Control-M jobs, folders, and workflow structures
- Define job parameters, execution conditions, and interdependencies
- Implement scheduling logic using calendars, time constraints, and recurring rules
- Set up alerting mechanisms, notifications, and job prioritization policies
- Monitor job execution through Control-M Enterprise Manager
- Investigate and resolve job failures, ensuring prompt reruns and compliance with SLAs
- Review workflow logic with business teams to confirm accuracy and completeness
- Support command jobs running on Linux systems, verifying logs, exit codes, and file permissions
- Develop and maintain technical documentation such as runbooks, job inventories, and dependency diagrams
- Participate in user acceptance testing and assist with operational transition activities
- Contribute to process enhancements and support implementation of new automation capabilities
Technology Environment
The role operates within a Control-M environment using Control-M Enterprise Manager for monitoring and control. All scheduled jobs execute on Linux platforms, requiring familiarity with command-line operations and system-level troubleshooting.
