OCBC Bank is hiring a Data Scientist - Manager/AVP to lead AI innovation across the group. In this role, you will solve high-impact business problems with a strong focus on generative AI applications, translating challenges into scalable solutions that enhance decision-making and automate tasks.
What You'll Do
- Collaborate closely with business units to understand their challenges and translate them into AI and ML solutions, particularly in conversational bots and content generation.
- Lead the development and deployment of generative AI applications that support monetisation initiatives across the bank.
- Build and operationalise Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) pipelines and agentic AI workflows to enhance decision-making, automate complex tasks, and improve user experiences.
- Partner with the Business Units trading team to identify opportunities for workflow automation, enabling traders to focus on higher-value, revenue-generating activities.
- Assess, build, and operationalise AI solutions that are scalable, secure, and aligned with business objectives.
What We're Looking For
- Master or PhD degree in Statistics, Mathematics, Computer Science, Software Engineering, or other quantitative field.
- More than 3 years of relevant work experience.
- Solid understanding of software engineering design patterns and best practices.
- Proficient in writing clear and effective Python code and model documentation.
- Hands-on experience building and deploying AI model pipelines into production.
- Familiarity with model deployment via RESTful APIs with tools such as FastAPI and Ray Serve.
- Experience with SQL and big data technologies such as Hadoop, Trino, and Spark.
- Some experience in the use of CI/CD and DevOps tools such as Jira, Jenkins, GIT/Bitbucket.
- Ability to execute in a fast-paced environment.
- Creativity to see possibilities within the data & translate into compelling stories, decisions, and actions for non-technical business users.
- Strong communication skills and drive to deliver business benefits in the real-world.
- Genuine drive to learn and master new technologies and techniques.
- Have a passion for AI and ML, and want to learn more everyday.
