Role Overview

As an Oracle Database Administrator, you'll be responsible for the ongoing health of critical database systems, ensuring they operate efficiently, securely, and at scale. Key Responsibilities
- Monitor, tune, and optimize Oracle database performance to meet demanding operational requirements.
- Implement and manage database upgrades, patches, and schema changes with minimal disruption.
- Lead data migration initiatives across development, testing, and production environments while preserving data integrity.
- Ensure robust backup, recovery, and disaster recovery strategies are in place and regularly tested.
- Enhance database security protocols and access controls to protect sensitive information.
- Collaborate with engineering teams to align database architecture with application needs.
- Automate repetitive administrative tasks using scripting to improve efficiency and reduce manual effort.
Required Qualifications
- Proven track record administering Oracle databases, including installation, configuration, performance tuning, and troubleshooting.
- Strong grasp of backup and recovery methods, replication strategies, and disaster preparedness.
- Familiarity with Infrastructure as Code tools such as Terraform for managing database environments.
- Hands-on experience with AWS database services, including RDS and Aurora.
- Proficiency in scripting languages like Python or Bash for automation and tooling.
Preferred Skills
- Experience with monitoring platforms such as Prometheus, Grafana, or Datadog.
- Deep understanding of query optimization and indexing strategies for high-volume systems.
- Background managing large, transaction-heavy databases in production environments.
