TigerData is looking for a Database Support Engineer - Weekend Night Shift to join our remote-first, globally distributed team. In this permanent role, you will provide deep technical support for TimescaleDB, interacting with customers daily during a 4-day, 10-hour shift schedule (11pm - 9am IST, Friday-Monday).
What You'll Do
- Work with customers across a wide spectrum of topics, from basic TimescaleDB administration to deep consultative conversations on design, optimization, and implementation.
- Manage technical support cases from initial contact through to resolution.
- Develop and maintain close relationships with customers to help them achieve success with our platform.
What We're Looking For
- A Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information systems, or equivalent practical experience.
- Hands-on experience with relational databases at scale, including administration, data modeling, and query optimization.
- Specific experience with relational databases, with PostgreSQL being a strong plus.
- Proven experience as a technical support professional serving external customers.
- A strong aptitude for understanding and learning new software products quickly.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to explain complex technical concepts with patience and empathy to varied audiences.
Nice to Have
- Familiarity with TimescaleDB.
- Knowledge of broad cloud computing concepts and experience with AWS, GCP, and Azure.
- Experience with Relational and NoSQL databases, as well as data modeling tools.
- Familiarity with PostgreSQL best practices, Query Plan analysis, backup/restore, and migrations.
- A strong sense of curiosity and a willingness to tackle unfamiliar problems and learn along the way.
