As a Demand Planner, you'll shape accurate demand forecasts by analyzing sales data, market signals, and customer behavior. Your insights will directly influence inventory strategy, ensuring the right products are available at the right time—without excess or shortages.
What You’ll Do
- Develop and refine forecasting models that adapt to new product launches and market dynamics.
- Collaborate with sales, marketing, and operations teams to align inventory plans with upcoming campaigns, promotions, and product releases.
- Monitor daily sales performance and inventory levels across warehouses, identifying variances and adjusting forecasts accordingly.
- Lead the monthly Open-to-Buy process, balancing projected sales with current stock to determine optimal purchase volumes.
- Use SQL, Excel, and ERP systems like NetSuite to extract, analyze, and interpret complex datasets.
- Communicate forecast assumptions and risks clearly to stakeholders, translating technical findings into actionable business guidance.
- Maintain and update planning dashboards to keep teams informed of demand trends and potential supply challenges.
- Partner with finance and logistics to anticipate disruptions, from shipping delays to capacity constraints, and adjust plans proactively.
What We’re Looking For
- At least two years of experience in demand planning, ideally within consumer goods, retail, or outdoor products.
- Strong analytical abilities with proven comfort in Excel and experience querying data using SQL.
- Ability to detect patterns in data and refine forecasting accuracy over time.
- Clear, effective communication skills—especially when explaining data-driven insights to non-technical audiences.
- Familiarity with demand planning tools and ERP platforms, particularly NetSuite, is a plus.
