Philadelphia, United States of America Hybrid USD 67,100 - 88,000 Yearly

Foursquare Integrated Transportation Planning, Inc. (Foursquare ITP) is hiring a Graphic Designer

About the Role

As a Graphic Designer, you’ll play a key role in shaping how communities interact with transportation systems through clear, accessible, and visually engaging design. You'll work across a variety of media—from detailed reports and outreach materials to digital platforms and physical wayfinding—to support public agencies and transit initiatives nationwide.

What You’ll Do

  • Design comprehensive print and digital deliverables including reports, presentations, brochures, and campaign assets using industry-standard tools
  • Develop infographics, diagrams, and illustrations that simplify complex transportation data for public audiences
  • Create and maintain brand systems for transit projects and public sector clients, ensuring consistency and clarity
  • Produce animated content and video materials to support public engagement, integrating narration, pacing, and visual storytelling
  • Design interactive and static web prototypes for outreach campaigns, incorporating dynamic elements like surveys and GIS-integrated maps
  • Develop transit signage systems, including route maps, stop identifiers, and environmental wayfinding, with attention to accessibility and real-world installation
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align design direction with project goals and timelines
  • Apply and expand knowledge of accessible design principles across all deliverables, including sensory alternatives to visual cues
  • Build templates and workflows to streamline production of high-volume, multi-format projects

What We’re Looking For

  • BA/BS in Graphic Design, Visual Communication, Fine Arts, or a related field—OR at least one year of professional design experience in a comparable role
  • Strong command of core design software: InDesign, Illustrator, and Acrobat, with experience using styles, master pages, and accessibility features
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and foundational knowledge of ArcGIS Pro
  • Demonstrated ability to manage detailed, multi-part design projects with multiple stakeholders and quality assurance requirements
  • Ability to work independently and communicate progress clearly to project leads and team members
  • A genuine interest in public transit and mobility equity, with a desire to grow within the transportation design space

Preferred Experience

  • Three or more years in a design role, particularly within public sector or transportation contexts
  • Experience with UI/UX tools such as Figma or Balsamiq, and web development platforms like Dreamweaver
  • Familiarity with animation and video editing software including After Effects and Premiere
  • Knowledge of web accessibility standards and experience applying them in digital projects
  • Understanding of wayfinding systems, including material selection, mounting strategies, and integration with urban infrastructure

Work Environment & Benefits

This hybrid role requires residency near one of our office locations—Philadelphia, Washington, DC, Atlanta, or Boston. For the first 90 days, you’ll work in-office two days per week, transitioning to at least one in-person day weekly. We offer flexible remote work options and support a collaborative, inclusive culture grounded in equity and professional growth.

You’ll enjoy comprehensive benefits including fully paid health insurance for employees, dependent subsidies, 401(k) matching, generous paid time off, and funding for conferences and professional development. Additional perks include transit benefits, a company-subsidized cell plan, performance bonuses, and access to training programs.

Our team values innovation, sustainability, and diverse perspectives. We foster a supportive environment where creativity meets practical impact, and where designers contribute meaningfully to the future of accessible, equitable transportation.
