The Junior Product Owner plays a key role in advancing a vital platform used by emergency response teams throughout the UK and Europe. This position supports the evolution of a system that powers public safety operations, ensuring reliability, usability, and innovation in high-pressure environments.
Key Responsibilities
- Translate customer needs and business goals into clear, actionable requirements through detailed analysis of workflows and technical capabilities
- Maintain and prioritize the product backlog to align with strategic objectives and deliver maximum value in each development cycle
- Work hand-in-hand with engineering teams to guide implementation, validate outputs, and ensure consistent quality
- Support product leadership in shaping long-term vision, roadmap planning, and breaking down complex initiatives into manageable deliverables
- Lead and participate in Scrum ceremonies, fostering collaboration and transparency across technical and non-technical partners
- Communicate progress, risks, and feature changes to stakeholders with clarity and precision
- Coordinate with UX, QA, and development specialists to deliver cohesive, user-centered solutions
What We’re Looking For
- Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to explain technical concepts clearly
- Solid grasp of agile methodologies and experience working in iterative development environments
- Organized, detail-oriented, and proactive in managing timelines and deliverables
- Ability to question assumptions and improve processes with a focus on continuous improvement
- Willingness to collaborate across disciplines and drive alignment between teams
- Five years of UK residency to meet security clearance requirements
Preferred Background
- Degree in Computer Science or a related technical field
- Familiarity with UK emergency services control room operations
- Experience working with UX teams to define user personas, journeys, and story mapping
- Exposure to technologies such as React, TypeScript, Node.js, Electron.js, C#, .NET, or API integrations

This is a hybrid role with primary remote work and occasional travel to offices in Glasgow, Leicester, or London.
