Tanium is hiring a Senior Cloud Cybersecurity Engineer

About the Role

Tanium is seeking a Senior Cloud Cybersecurity Engineer to join our mission of proactive defense. You will collaborate with Detection, Security, and Software Engineers to protect Tanium Cloud's services. Your focus will be on the design, implementation, and operation of preventative, detective, and responsive controls to identify and counter risks before they impact our platform.

What You'll Do

  • Build and operate Tanium Cloud's detection and response engineering in Azure, AWS, and Kubernetes using DevOps methodologies and automation as code.
  • Continuously evaluate and enhance the design and effectiveness of Cloud and Kubernetes security measures to advance our defensive posture.
  • Proactively characterize unauthorized activity and malicious behaviors in our cloud and container infrastructure through code, testing, and automation.
  • Develop tailored detection policies, perform testing, and implement automation using SecDataOps and best practices.
  • Integrate the latest security threats, vulnerabilities, and industry trends to enhance detection and generate intelligence-driven hunts.
  • Collaborate with engineering, IT, and other security groups to create scalable solutions that protect Tanium Cloud against a range of threats.
  • Build and maintain positive relationships with internal customers to increase the impact of the team's work.
  • Participate in periodic on-call rotations for triage of critical security events.

What We're Looking For

  • 5-7 years of experience in cloud security event prevention, detection, and response for public cloud systems (AWS, Azure) within a DevOps environment.

Nice to Have

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
  • Background in Cloud Security, IT Security, or a related technical field.
