As a Senior Data Scientist, you will operate at the intersection of research and engineering, building robust data systems that support advanced medical imaging analysis. Your work will directly influence the scalability and reliability of data pipelines used in AI-driven research, ensuring that large-scale queries are efficient and production-ready.
What You'll Do
- Design and refine complex database queries to extract insights from large medical datasets while maintaining system stability
- Partner with researchers to convert scientific objectives into structured, scalable data workflows
- Process and standardize DICOM imaging data for use in machine learning applications
- Optimize data execution strategies to prevent latency and performance degradation in production environments
- Monitor data infrastructure to identify bottlenecks and implement proactive improvements
Requirements
- Minimum of three years of hands-on experience developing production systems in Python
- Proven experience with Jupyter Notebooks, Google Colab, and R in real-world applications
- Deep knowledge of database administration, including indexing, query optimization, and performance tuning
- Understanding of system latency and the operational impact of resource-intensive queries
- Advanced technical proficiency equivalent to a Master’s or PhD in Data Science or Computer Science
- Strong communication skills with the ability to translate technical challenges across teams
- Fluency in English
- Residency in Latam required

- Experience developing AI models, especially for image segmentation
- Familiarity with DICOM standards and medical data workflows
